Mood Struck - Color Changing Nail Polish

Today I have heat activated Mood Struck color changing nail polish. I picked this one up at Rite Aid for $3.99.

The color in the bottle was a gorgeous blue with purple undertones which didn't translate to the nail even prior to the color change. For the most part this stayed light blue. In order to get the dark blue tips I put ice on my nails for these photos. The polish looked chaulky before top coat.

This polish did NOT like Seche Vite. The polish shrunk up within minutes. About 10 minutes after these photos the shrinkage was almost double seen in the photos. I've never seen shrinkage this bad before.

The photos below are 2 coats of Mood Struck and 1 coat of Seche Vite.

  1. Wow, that is some scary shrinkage! The pattern you made with the ice is neato, though.

I've had medium luck with Claire's color change polishes, which are usually BOGO1/2OFF, so they work out to $7.50 for two.

  2. I'm going to have to check out Claire's for the color changing polishes. I've seen some of their glitters and I've been tempted to buy them.
