Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed

Happy Friday!! Today I have a truly fantastic polish for you, Toxic Seaweed by Cult Nails! I picked this two of these up the night they went on sale and it just may be one of my favorite polishes so far in 2012. To be perfectly honest, I love this much more in person than I do in any swatches I have seen.

Toxic Seaweed has both of the best worlds....flakies and glitter all together in one polish. Everything is mixed up in a dark green jelly base. At times the base leans teal and the flakies flash red/orange for the most part. This is absolutely gorgeous and I love it even more than I expected to. Formula was easy to work with and I found this to be opaque in two coats. If you like this polish don't wait too long because it's limited edition.

The photos below show two coats of Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed and a coat of Seche Vite.

I la-la-love this! You can pick this one up at www.CultNails.com for $10.00.

I hope everyone has a good weekend!!! Me and the boyfriend go on mini day trips every Saturday, and if the weather holds out I'm looking for something to do outside   :0)

Finger Paints Twisted

Good morning all! Hope everyone has a good day today. I'm going to keep today's post short because it's already 2am and I'm still awake. Thank you to everyone who has purchased from my blog sale already! I appreciate it!!! Today's post feature's Finger Paints Twisted, one of the 5 new flakie top coats released this January.

The photos below show 2 coats of Finger Paints Twisted over Revlon Black Lingerie. Formula was good and easy to work with. One coat would have been sufficient, but I like my flakies really dense, so I opted for two. It's really gorgeous, even my boyfriend commented more than once how great it was. It reminded me a little of stained glass. I do wish the blue flakies were more prominent, so next time I plan on layering this over blue (or I'll throw on a coat of Motley).

Photos show 2 coats of Revlon Black Lingerie, 2 coats of Finger Paints Twisted and a coat of Seche Vite. Please excuse the chips! I wrapped my tips so thickly that this chipped pretty easy. Photos are indoors with and without flash, and outdoors (yay for sun!)

Barielle Do Unto Others meets Buddha-ful flakies

Hello ladies! I know yesterday's post features Barielle's Do Unto Others, so I hope you liked it enough not to mind a continuation of that post.....because I didn't want to take my polish off lol. I change my polish every night before I go to sleep. It's very rare that I wear a polish for more than a day or so, because I have so many to get through and swatch. I hate swatching and removing polish just for photos, since I see it as wasteful so I only write on polishes I wear as a NOTD. Also, when I swatch I seem to rush and that comes through in my photos.

Since I was so happy with this polish I decided to add a coat of Barielle's Buddha-ful on top of it. I think by now most people have seen Buddha-ful and even this combination. I really like Buddha-ful, but on it's own I needed 3 to 4 coats to really get it opaque (next time, I'm layering over a complimentary pink). I slapped 1 coat of Buddha-ful over my 2 coats of Do Unto Others and this is what I got.....

I got a combination I really liked.Buddha-ful made the base color have a more milky tint to it, so I don't think you can layer this over just any color. As much as I want to put it over an emerald green, I'm going to have to resist lol.

REMINDER: YOU ONLY HAVE TILL 11:59PM TOMORROW NIGHT TO ENTER MY HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY!

Barielle Elle's Spell

Hiya! I got some of my first Barielle polishes for my birthday this year from my best friend. We're both polish obsessed, so naturally holidays/birthdays are filled with polish. We usually gift OPI, China Glaze and Essie but she went outside of those brands that this year and bought me Nubar, Misa, and Barielle. She also picked me up a melmer, which will make organizing easier since my helmer drawers are organized a little funky. I can't wait to start my Christmas polish shopping this year!

Barielle's Elle's Spell was a polish I've had my eyes on for quite some time. It's absolutely gorgeous, although it was incredibly hard to photograph. Elle's Spell is a burgandy red jelly with flakies in it. The flakies glow orange/gold and this reminded me of fire on my finger tips.

The photos below show three coats of Elle's Spell and a coat of Seche Vite. In order to save polish, I plan on layering this next time. I really want to see what it looks like in person over black.

Sephora by OPI 212-Sephora

Today's post features one of my biggest lemmings, Sephora-212. Sephora by OPI (aka $OPI), per the Sephora website is described as "opaque smoky black with iridescent, gold and copper chunky glitter". I would consider this one a very muddy, bronze with flakies and small holo glitter (which seemed to stay mostly stuck to the sides of the bottle). While it's a nice polish, it didn't live up to my expectations 100%. I actually picked this up at the Sephora in Times Square (#212 for which it's named).

The photos below are two coats of Sephora-212 and a coat of Seche Vite.
The top photo is taken indoors with a flash.

Nfu Oh # 052

I just purchased three Nfu Oh polishes off of http://www.fabuloustreet.com/ after obsessing over them for months. I had a hard time choosing which ones I would purchase, so I picked the three that stood out to me the most that night. I ended up with # 40, # 51 and # 52. When the package arrived in the mail # 52 jumped out at me first. It's an amazing polish with a dark blue base, with teal/green flakies depending on the light. In direct sunlight it shimmers true blue and the green disappears. Indoor lighting gives it incredible depth where you see the blue base and teal/green flakies.

I layered one coat of Nfu Oh # 52 over one coat China Glaze's 'Caylpso Blue' in the following photos:
(Please excuse my cuticles, they desperately need TLC. Avoplex cuticle oil and lotion aren't cutting it. I purchased Lush's Lemony Flutter last night and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works. All photos have Seche Vite top coat as well)
