Misa Dirty Sexy Money and My Sunday-Funday Essie Haul

Good Morning! It's just another manic Monday, ugh! Why do the weekends always fly by but the work week takes it's time? Today I have a polish that sat in my untrieds for about 10 months, and now I can't understand why. I received this as a gift for my last birthday from by best friend.

Misa Dirty Sexy Money is described as a creamy turquoise-green. I fell head over heels in love with this. It's a tad dusty but I love that it leans more green than blue. Formula was excellent and it was completely opaque in two coats. I did find that I had a lot of tip wear within 24 hours. I've been having some top coat issues, so I'm not sure if I should attribute the chippage to Misa DSM or my top coat. Either way, I'm loving Dirty Sexy Money....

I've been on a HUGE Essie kick the past few weeks. Yesterday my best friend and I made our way around Brooklyn and Queens on a polish hunt, since I know that I can find Essie for a more competitive price than the $6 I pay at my local beauty supply.

Here's my haul....and I'm so excited to get through them!

I picked up Essie Boxer Shorts, Coat Azure, Mochachino, Who's the Boss?, Fear or Desire, She's Picture Perfect, No More Film, Cascade Cool, Head Mistress, Armed & Ready, Miss Fancy Pants, Stylenomics and Don't Sweater It. The OPI you see is Swimsuit Nailed It.

I know there are a couple of NY girls here....so here's a breakdown of where I've shopped and pricing which someone may find helpful...

D&D Nail Supply
Fort Hamilton Parkway, Brooklyn
$4 Essie, $5 OPI, $3 Duri ---- Cash Only
I found them to be really extremely picked over (I've been here once before). On the phone they told me they had all collections up to the Stylenomics collection, but they had only Miss Fancy Pants. A bit of a let down if you have a specific list. I had a list of 10 from newer and older collections and could only get 3 here. They were that picked over. I doubt I will be back.

TQ Beauty Nail Supply
4th Ave, Brooklyn
12/$60 Essie and 12/$72 OPI
Fully stocked! Over the phone they told us Essie was $4, and then when we got there we were told they were sold only by the dozen. My bestie and I split a dozen but because of this didn't get any OPI which was hard since they had the new Germany collection. Staff was friendly and helpful when I asked a question. I'm not sure if they are cash only or not...

Vonita Nail Supply/18th Ave Nail Supply  (whitepages/the sign)
18th Ave, Brooklyn
$6 Essie, $4 Color Club, No OPI. --- Cash Only
I didn't buy anything here but they did have decent stock.

Fashion Nail Supply
Grand Ave, Flushing
$8 OPI, $8 Essie, $4 Color Club
I didn't buy anything because I don't find their pricing to be competitive - but it's a quick local stop if you are on Queens Blvd.

All four supply stores were missing Bikini So Teeny, Play Date, Go Overboard and the new Yogaga collection by Essie. I had to pay full retail for Boxer Shorts at Walgreens; I couldn't go home without it lol  :)

Misa Spaced Out & a question for my ladies across the ocean.....

Hello! Quickie post today, because I ran out of time last night. I've been having sleep issues, where I can't fall asleep until after 2:30am and I have to be up by 7. I've trying to give myself a midnight cut off, where the computer and tv have to be off. I haven't even browsed all of my blogs this week and I'm going through withdrawals lol. I'll have to make up for it this weekend!

Today I have Misa Spaced Out, which is a grey polish with silver and dark gray shimmer throughout. Formula was easy to work with, and it was completely opaque in 2 coats. It's not the most unique, but it is very pretty. I have Misa Gray Matters, which I think may favor more ;)

Now....a question for my international ladies....can someone get me a bottle (or two) of Max Factor Fantasy Fire? I will pay for it, swap for it, whatever you want to do. I need this in my life.
I'm also looking for the Teeez holos if anyone knows of a place where they are laying around.
::::fingers crossed::::  Thanks lovies!

Misa Gray Matters

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a good week. Any fun plans for the weekend? Since I was stuck inside last weekend with a cold, I plan on taking a road trip this weekend with my boyfriend (ex: looking up polish supply stores and heading in that direction lol). Luckily, he's a good sport about it. He used to come dusty hunting because I told him Essie Starry Starry Night sold for over $100 on Ebay (I would never give it up if I got my hands on it LOL)

I've always had a thing for Gray, but I've never met a gray like this. Today I have Misa's Gray Matters. Gray Matters is a medium gray with the most amazing finish. It has small silver and small dark gray (maybe black?) micro pieces, so it comes off looking speckled. This was so gorgeous I couldn't stop staring at my nails.

The formula was great and completely opaque in 2 coats. I put a coat of Seche Vite on this and went to bed. When I got up the next morning, I noticed that 1/2 of my left pointer finger was coming up. I stuck it back down with Seche Vite and went over it again. I figured it was just a fluke thing. Throughout the day, this continued to happen. By 10pm, I was all peeled and chipped like I've never seen before. I don't know if my top coat was bad, if I had lotion on before I painted, etc. but I was stunned. I'm definitely not blaming the polish yet, but I'm going to have to try it again.

The photos below are two coats of Gray Matters and a coat of Seche Vite.
See the speckles?!?!

On a side note, I think I found my holy grail treatment. Notice how long my nails are getting?
I'm waiting for them to break any minute now, and they haven't. Nailtek Foundation II is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I used to use OPI Nail Envy but my nails would have broken and peeled at least a week ago with Nail Envy.
I've been really bad lately and have been peeling my polish off on the drive home from work (almost daily) to save time, and they still aren't splitting, peeling, cracking, breaking, etc. When I make a fist I feel my nail tips, that's something I'm not used to!
I think I'm converted for life!
Buh-Bye Nail Envy! Helllooooo Nailtek <3 <3 <3

Misa Toxic Seduction and OPI Rainbow Connection

Toxic Seduction is right! This polish is amazing! Today's post features Misa Toxic Seduction. I'm not even sure how to describe this polish accurately. It's dark and looks almost black in certain lighting, but it's not. It's almost a deep emerald green but there's a little bit of teal hidden in there. It's got a gorgeous shimmer and this is just a win. Seriously. I'm so impressed with Misa right now.

I didn't want to remove this polish on the second day. I had no tip wear, no chips, nothing. You will see, that I picked at the polish on my ring finger but that was my fault, not the polishes. Instead of taking it off I decided to put OPI Rainbow Connection over it and I ruined it :(

I wasn't head over heels in love with OPI Rainbow Connection, but it was nice. I didn't need another multi glitter, but picked it up because of all the hype. I wondered if this could be the next Mad As A Hatter?!?! I almost want to say this is over rated, but maybe I need to try it over another polish.  Maybe a different combination would 'wow' me. Thoughts??

The photos below are two coats of Misa Toxic Seduction and a coat of Seche Vite.
The last photo shows one coat of OPI Rainbow Connection.
