China Glaze 'Violet Hush'

Today's swatches are China Glaze 'Violet Hush' which is an older polish. As you can see from the pictures, the writing on the bottle is different and the cap is silver instead of black. I found this polish while dusty hunting. I'm not sure what collection this is from or from what year, I can't find anything out on Google.

This is not my style. At all. The reason I bought it was that I saw the silver cap and made the woman working at the salon dig through her showcase to get it for me. As soon as she handed it to me I knew I wouldn't love it but felt bad and took it anyway. Plus I figured I may never see it again.

'Violet Hush' is what I would consider a rasberry purple with a high frost finish. It's full of brush strokes no matter how hard I try to get rid of them. It shows every flaw in my nail (like that enormous split on my middle finger). The formula was a watery and liked to run to my cuticles. This may be the first China Glaze polish I really don't like.

I wasn't sure if I even wanted to show these swatch photos. I decided I should since it may help someone out one day if they come face to face with 'Violet Hush'.

  1. I wonder how old it is? My beauty supply store has literally hundreds of old china glaze still on there shelves. Some look pretty cool, like I found a bottle of Channelesque but the rest I'm always too scares to try cause they look so old and separated.

  2. I wonder how old it is too. I have another bottle of China Glaze that has this same design and I was able to find out the information on it. I can't find the bottle and I don't remember the name, so I can't remember how I found it lol.

Don't ever pass up a HTF polish just because it's separated. I've bought a ton of separated polish and with a little shaking and rolling its as good as new. I just make sure I shake it a day or two before I apply it, this way the bubbles leave. So far I haven't had any problems. If you end up buying Channelesque let me know how it goes.

  3. I love seeing these old ones, especially from the Platinum Series as there are not many posts about them. :D And for me, Seche Restore = the saver of all older, non-B3F, evaporated/crusty/chunky polishes! <3

  4. That's what the series was called!!!!! LOL. THANK YOU! I feel like I should have been able to remember that for being so obsessed with polish. I don't have Seche Restore, I may have to go pick it up. I have the OPI thinning drops but sometimes I feel I have to add too many drops (even to just Seche Vite)
