Twinsie Tuesday - Fruit Mani

Good Morning everyone! I have to apologize, but I'm missing a post for today's Twinsie Tuesday topic. I've been having a lot of trouble with the my fingers and hands, to the point where I haven't been able to paint my nails at all in about 2 weeks. Without painting my nails regularly, I wouldn't even attempt to do nail art. I'm sorry!

In the meantime, don't forget to check out the awsome ladies who are bringing you your servings of fruit today:

Twinsie Tuesday - Favorite Color (China Glaze Skyscraper)

Good Morning! TGIT....because Tuesday is better than Monday, lol. Our theme for today was our favorite color. I have two favorites, magenta and blue. Since I've done magenta before for a twinsie post (the color of our rooms) I decided to go with blue. I chose China Glaze Skyscraper. I used two coats for the photos below and topped it with Seche Vite. As much as I love glitter polish, they've been getting pushed towards the back of my Helmers more and more. No matter what I do, I have chips within 24-48 hours. Womp womp...

Be sure to check out my Twinsies. I'm excited to see which of us have the same favorite colors...

Twinsie Tuesday - Polish Roulette (China Glaze Bare it All and Mango Madness)

Good Morning! It's Tuesday, so we know what that means  :)  The theme for today was polish roulette, where we picked two random polishes from our stash and make them work together. I headed over to my Helmer and decided to dive into my China Glaze drawer since I haven't shown them much love lately. I picked out Bare it All. When I went back in for a second dip, I may have looked just ever so quickly before reaching down and grabbed Mango Madness. I don't consider it cheating, my eyes were closed when I reached down lol. I attempted to do a gradient, which turned out to be a little more uneven than expected. I used three coats of Bare it All and a coat of Mango Madness. Sorry for the cruddy photo. I dropped my camera when the zoom was open last week and now it's broken  :*(

Twinsie Tuesday - Nails Painted by Someone Else (OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest)

Good Morning! Errr, before we get started I have to come clean about not being prepared for the Twinsie Tuesday theme for this week. The theme was to have someone else paint our nails. I've been running super behind with blogging, and I've been doing my TT manis last minute lately. It's 11:30pm on Monday evening and I just realized that I don't have anyone available to paint my nails.....
Sorry for the fail on my part! I didn't want to not write anything, so in lieu of what I was supposed to post today I'm just going to leave you with a recent NOTD which was 2 coats of OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest.

Be sure to check out the other Twinsie Tuesday ladies, who I'm sure did much better than me this week.
Sorry ladies! :(

Twinsie Tuesday - Copy Cat Post # 2

Good morning! Today we have another Copy Cat post. The first time around I was paired up with Anna from Going to the Showing. She has amazing nail art skills. Due to arthritis/carpal tunnel of some sort that it taking over the joints in my fingers the last few days I was feeling less than skilled this week. I decided to go with something simple. I searched and searched through Anna's posts until I found a polish that I also owned. I did two coats of China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald topped with Seche Vite. For whatever reason, I just don't like this polish on me. It looks fantastic on Anna, but on me I think it clashes a bit :::puts in purge pile:::

Check out Anna's post featuring Emerald Fitzgerald here.

My swatches:

Just. Not. A. Fan.  I embrace my paleness at all times but I feel like this just makes me look uber washed out. It's much more dark teal than it is emerald. I wouldn't even consider it a true green. I've had it on since Sunday, but I'm blaming my laziness on that.

Don't forget to check out all of my Twinsies and their copy cat manicures.....

Twinsie Tuesdays - Ruffian Manicure

Good morning, ladies! Today our Twinsie Tuesday theme was to rock a ruffian manicure. This is my first ruffian manicure, since I'm not a big fan of the look. I chose two Essie polishes to work with since I'm such a huge fan of the amount of control the brush provides. I used Mint Mojito as the base and Going Incognito as the second coat. This was much easier to pull off then I had originally expected. The color difference/gap reminds me of acrylics that need a fill in.  :0X

Make sure you check out the ruffian manicures that my twinsies are rocking!

Twinsie Tuesday - Dot or Stripes Manicure

Good Morning! Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is a dot or stripe manicure. It seems like such a simple concept, but I spent quite some time thinking out what I was going to do. I chose a base which I wanted to work with and then decided to go with dots - but I couldn't pair up the perfect accent color to go with the base. In the end I decided to stripe it up. I did some freehand (not like I needed to tell you that...) stripes using my Jordana Pop Art Nail Design polish in black over Orly Sapphire Silk (which is more green in person)....

Make sure you check out my Twinsies and see whether they decided to go with dots or stripes...

Twinsie Tuesday - Marching Orders (Summer Inspired Mani)

Hey, everyone! It's Tuesday, so you all know what that means. The theme for this week's Twinsie Tuesday were marching orders, given to us from another Twinsie. Marisa from Polish Obsession was responsible for giving me my marching orders.

Being a fellow New Yorker, Marisa stated that she was over the cold weather and winter all together and she wanted to see a mani that reminded her of summer. I couldn't agree with Marisa more! I'm so over this winter and the 30"+ of snow that's sitting on the ground outside. I think the cold air and snow mixed with being stuck inside made me a tad delusional, because I went all out in nail art for this one......

I used all Color Club nail polishes for this one. I started out with three coats of a streaky unnamed yellow. The flowers are Peace Out Purple, Pink Rush, Pucci-Licious, an unnamed baby pink and an unnamed red. The centers of the flowers are an unnamed neon orange (I got these unnamed polishes in a pack at Ross in NJ). The vines are my all time favorite Color Club, Age of the Aquarius. I had a hard time getting this mani color accurate since some of the flowers were pastel and some were neon. I didn't plan it too far ahead....

Make sure you check out my Twinsies and the marching orders that they received. I'm excited to see what everyone came up with.  (And a special thanks to Marisa for giving me such a fun theme to work with!)

Shimmer Polish - Tiffany & Jasmine

Good Morning! Today I have my last two Shimmer Polishes for you. They are Jasmine and Tiffany. Each one I try leaves me just as impressed as the one before. I can definitely say I'm a fan of Shimmer Polish and her creations.

Tiffany is made up of pale pink and pale baby blue glitter in a clear base. The formula was easy to work with and opaque in two coats. The glitter also lays flat when applied. When I pulled this out of the package it instantly reminded me of magical unicorns, for whatever reason. I think because it's so soft and girly. This may be my absolute favorite Shimmer Polish.

Next up is Jasmine. Jasmine is described as aquamarine, light blue and green glitter in a clear base. I also can eye spy some red and gold glitter in there as well. The formula on Jasmine, like Tiffany is easy to work with and opaque in two coats. Another gorgeous Shimmer Polish....

You can purchase Shimmer Polish on Etsy, here. You can also check out all of the polishes offered by Shimmer Polish on her website, www.ShimmyShimmer.com. They are full size bottles that retail for $12.00 each.

These polishes were provided for my honest review.

Weekend Spam

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. I'm so behind on blogging, it's not even funny. I'm stuck in the house this weekend due to the massive blizzard that came across NY and dropped over 30" of snow in my neighborhood. I decided to do some "spring cleaning" and start going through older swatches which I intended to reswatch. Some of these are from early fall, so you will see various nail lengths....

OPI Absolutely Alice over OPI Swimsuit Nailed It.

OPI The One That Got Away

Essie Armed & Ready

Color Club Fashion Addict

Essie Don't Sweater It

Essie Tart Deco

Essie No More Film

Essie She's Picture Perfect  (I have a reswatch of this one coming soon....)

Essie Cascade Cool

Nails Inc Sugar House Lane  (this one reminded me of melted Cookies & Cream ice cream)

Nails Inc Topping Lane

Nails Inc Pudding Lane

I hope to reswatch some of these soon, but I just have so many untrieds that I still have to get through. I've also come to the conclusion that my nails look better shorter than seen in some of these photos. For whatever reason, when they reach a certain point they start to turn a little duck-nailish. Yikes, lol.

That's it for today. I'm waiting for them to come plow my block, still. I've been in the house since 6pm on Friday and I'm going stir crazy. I only live about a mile from the supermarket so I could easily walk, but I don't trust my balance when mixed with snow and ice. My balance is questionable on a regular day  :P

Enjoy the last bit of your weekend!
