Twinsie Tuesday - Inspired by Another Blogger

Good Morning! Today's post was a tricky one.....inspired by another blogger. There were SO many people that came to mind that I didn't know how to narrow the choices down. After thinking about it for a few days I went to my helmer to pick a polish and it clicked. Before I started blogging I was pretty much obsessed with LetThemHavePolish. So much so that when she posted her Bettina swatches I took the first opportunity to purchase them when an email address was provided for a contact at Bettina. I picked out a bunch of polish, all which turned out to be amazing. For today's polish I chose Bettina Starfish, a bright orange crème that seemed just right for the 90 degree weather we had the last few days in NY. The formula on Starfish is almost a one coater. Two coats really pulled everything together.

Be sure to check out my Twinsie's posts. I'm excited to see who everyone picked:

Twinsie Tuesday - School Colors Mani (Bettina Glamour Chic & Wet n' Wild Tangled in My Web)

Good Morning! I hope everyone is having a good week so far. Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme was our school colors. I chose to go with my high school colors which were red and black. I'm not a fan of red and black together, at all. I'm pretty shocked that I like this mani as much as I do. I did two super easy, smooth coats of Bettina Glamour Chic and topped it with 2.5 coats of Wet n' Wild Tangled in My Web. I did two full coats, and then dabbed it on in places. I wish the glitter was more dense. Either way, here's my mani for the day...

Bettina # 45 and Icing After Party

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a good weekend. My boyfriend and I took a trip to upstate NY to go walk around Bear Mountain. There was no physical address on Google that was correct, so we ended up driving around for about 2 hours. We actually drove right by it and crossed a bridge, and spent most of the day on the wrong side lol. Lesson learned, when going on our drives we are going somewhere with a physical address. We finally found it after 8pm, but by that time I opted to go to the Woodbury Common Outlets instead.

Quick pic from the wrong side of the water......

Anyway, back to nail polish. My best friend & I made a trip to Sephora one Friday night once their website showed that the Sprinkles collection was in store. Of course, when we got there they were no where to be found and the worker there told us to come back "next Friday" (I ended up getting them at a different Sephora, where the worker went and dug them out of the back for me). Since I anticipated a polish purchase, I didn't want to leave the mall empty handed. We walked down to Icing where I immediately started going through their glitters. I ended up getting 6 bottles for $22, which in my opinion is a steal!

I'm sure you've seen this one before, but here is Icing After Party. This is a party in a bottle. The glitter pieces are different sizes and shapes, from tiny pieces to shards. The colors are gorgeous! The glitter pieces are made up of a lavender purple, light blue, gold and rusty orange in a clear base. I wanted something muted so I chose Bettina 45 as the base coat. Formula was easy to work with. The only thing I would change is the density of the glitter. I felt I needed two coats and there's already a pretty big dent in my bottle.

The photos below show two coats of Bettina 45 and two coats of After Party.

The Icing polishes retail for $4.50, but anytime I've ever purchased from Icing they are B1G1Half. I need more of these polishes in my life. I do feel a little silly walking into Icing considering I'm 26 years old, but why should teens have all the good glitter? Glitter is for adults! LOL.

Twinsie Tuesday - Non-Ring Finger Accent Mani

Morning! This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is a non-ring finger accent mani. I debated about what finger I wanted to use for about a week and then I finally decided on not one, but two accent fingers. I was hoping it would pull this look together a little better for me.

For my main polish I used Bettina 187, which is not color accurate in these photos. In person it's a shade darker and leans more purple/maroon than what it looks here. I couldn't find my other camera, so this was the best I could do. I then used 1 coat of China Glaze Dollhouse for the accent glitter on my ring and pinky fingers. On my ring finger I carefully dotted the glitter, but due to the dim lighting in my room I wasn't as successful with my pinky nail.

I didn't love this, mainly due to the clumped glitter on my pinky nail. So I started over using Bettina 187 and Bettina Flip Flop....

Still not 100% in love. What I am in love with is Bettina Flip Flop, but I won't get into that because I have an entire blog post coming up for it. It definitely deserves it.

Twinsie Tuesday - Patriotic Mani

Morning! It's another Twinsie Tuesday. Today's theme is a patriotic mani. I had my weeks messed up and almost painted and posted the wrong mani for today. Thankfully Anna saved me from doing so when she mentioned something about her patriotic mani last night. (Thanks again Anna!) So, long story short. It's after 12:30am and I had to cheat. I went out to dinner straight from work and came home late and didn't have time to start fresh, so I went right over my existing manicure of China Glaze Sea Spray.

My base color is two coats of China Glaze Sea Spray. I got out your average sewing needle and made dots using Bettina Glamour Chic, Jordana White and China Glaze Calypso Blue. I topped everything off with a coat of China Glaze Fairy dust to represent the stars on our flag. I also had to nubbinize this past weekend :::sigh:::

I thought I was going to hate this and only planned on doing the 4 nails that I photograph, but I ended up loving it and now I'm sporting a full mani with this. My dots aren't all the same color but it's late and I'm tired, so I'm going to use that as my excuse lol.

I hope that everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July!

Bettina 'Pink Bikini'

Today I have another Bettina polish for you. This one is 'Pink Bikini'. It's a gorgeous bright pink creme. It's not neon but it's bright enough to be noticed.

The polish went on smooth and was opaque in 2 coats. The photos below also have a coat of Seche Vite. The glitter on the accent nail is Wet N' Wild 'Party of Five' glitter.

Bettina # 45

Today I have for you Bettina's # 45. This is another polish from my Bettina haul, all thanks to www.LetThemHavePolish.com. This is a light dusty pink, which on my skin tone is really flattering for a light pink.

I'm not one to wear nudes or light pink. Out of my entire collection, I probably only own about 10 bottles of light pink, and maybe 2-3 colors that are borderline nude shade. I'm all about the brights in the summer, and the dark shades in the winter. Nudes and light pinks are my 'safe for interview' colors and get most of their use by my mother.

I couldn't get enough of this polish. Seriously. The formula was fantastic and it dried shiny even without a top coat. I'm shocked at how drawn I am to this color, although who can blame me?

This is three coats of polish and a coat of Seche Vite. I did a third coat because I'm always concerned about seeing a VNL with light pinks/nudes. There was no VNL, and I didn't need the third coat but I did it anyway.

I seriously can't get enough of my Bettina polishes. I'm already thinking about placing another order and I'm not even 1/2 way through what I already have.

Bettina's  # 45  <3

Absolutely gorgous.

Beautiful.
